We have a special place in our hearts for coupes, as our very first Volvo was a 1978 242GT.  While not a GT, this burgundy coupe was a good base to start with.  The car was located in California's wine country, but spent its first twelve years right here in our home town.  Somehow, it had the Wagonmeister's name on it!  Despite being a SoCal car, it was unusual in that it had no factory AC.  This has been added in the form of a complete AC and PS setup from an 85-88 car.

Just a couple of photos here.  One of the car shortly after arriving in SoCal.  Interior work has been started and the exterior has been cleaned up with a good wash and fresh wheel trim (car came with aftermarket, plastic wheel covers) and headlight surrounds.  Overdrive has been re-wired at this point, a few other touches.  The second photo shows the vehicle after extensive work, but still incomplete.  The coupe has had a complete suspension makeover including Lesjofors sport springs, urethane trailing arm and torque rod bushings, 25/23 HD anti sway bars and new shocks, firewall braces and 16" Hydra alloys with 55 series tires.  Handles like a slot car!  Inside, the tired, DL tweed cloth interior was completely replaced by a later style tan cloth interior.  This car is not complete and continues to improve as time allows.  Stay tuned for more photos.
